Abstract:
This report describes a baseline integrated data management system for a dual purpose fighter attack aircraft postulated for operation in the 1985 time frame. The capability to perform the close air support mission and the air superiority role resides in this aircraft at the same time. The missions postulated to be performed are reviewed, detailed functional and task analyses are performed for several mission scenarios and mission phases, a baseline avionics suite is generated, a crew station is configured, and a weapon system management concept is formulated. Following this the data processing required to service this weapon system and its management concept is examined. Following a review of the design process, a baseline point of departure data processing system consisting mainly of a federated multiprocessor configuration, a pair of dual time division multiplexed data buses and centralized control, is discussed. Volume I, Summary, contains the Table of Contents, List of Tables, and List of Figures for Volumes I, II, and III. Volume III contains 5 secret appendices. Author
