The computer coding from Program FORBAK presented in AFWL-TR-72-138 which examines a triaxial system of velocity gages has been reworked to accept experimental data from the field in addition to hypothetical data. Also, the coding has been altered so that the program can be operated by persons not familiar with the mathematics. A method has been included to allow the investigator to evaluate errors of the mathematical model and the programming which are not associated with the physical validity of the model. To show the state-of-the-art in the development of the mathematical model and the experimental calibration procedures for the system of gages, two experiments were performed with respect to the theorectical calculations. Although the physical system contains several nonlinearities which are not yet accounted for in the mathematical model, the model may easily be corrected to account for these nonlinearities. Therefore, pending some refinement studies, the canister system of gages will be an accurate device for measuring velocity and displacement. Author
