Abstract:
The purpose of this program was to develop a low velocity 2,600 ms composite explosive for use in the High Explosive Simulation Technique HEST cavity. The general approach taken was to incorporate a self-explosive PETN with other additives in a polymeric binder capable of being cured at various densities. The explosive developed, designated TSE-1002, has an average detonation rate of 2,550 ms at a density of 0.92 gcc and thickness of 1.7 inches. Author
