Abstract:
A center-fed coaxial antennas and a foreshortened center-fed coaxial antenna were developed to operate over the frequency range of 160 MHz to 176 MHz. The antennas, designed to replace the standard wavelength4 monopole antenna used on the ADSID sensor, were shown to have reduced detectability, improved radiation efficiency, and with a cable choke integral to the antenna design provided antenna immunity from the effects of varying ground conditions.
