Abstract:
The Dynamic Air-to-Air Model DATAM-I is a completely digital expected-value simulation of air-to-air gunnery created for use in the evaluation of gun and ammunition systems. In terms of aerial gunnery effectiveness, the probability of hitting and killing the target are the most significant factors. In order to determine these probabilities, the mathematical simulation model describes the target aircraft, fire controlsight errors, pilot control of the bullet stream in space, characteristics of the weapon system, and dynamics of the aerial combat.
