The objective of this effort was to investigate and define the nature of the maintenance and maintainability problems associated with the mechanicalelectromechanical subsystems, equipments, assemblies and components of Air Force ground systems further, to evaluate the current maintainability capability and practices associated with nonelectronic equipment. A maintenance data program was established to evaluate both preventive and corrective maintenance of nonelectronic equipment. Maintenance data, extracted from the AFM 66-1 Maintenance Management System, and AFM 65-110, Equipment Status Reporting System,, as well as 66-1 raw data from the 25th Air Division Headquarters were used in this study. Four systems were included in the investigation representing 125 installations and the equivalent of 1500 operating months.
