Three types of connectors utilized in charging submarine escape applicances in simulated submarine escapes were evaluated with respect to speed of disconnect in a dry environment. Statistically significant differences in disconnect time were found between the various types of connectors, however, the magnitude of these differences is so small that they are of no practical significance in the submarine escape evolution. It is recommended that the study be repeated in a wet environment, more closely simulating actual submarine escape conditions.
