Abstract:

An attempt was made to adapt an existing instrumentation canister for the Middle Gust series of HE shots. Because of moisture penetration and mechanical-resonance problems, redesign of the canister was necessitated. The resulting canister, while moisture proof, is not usable in fast-rising shock enviroments. New developmental canister designs for use in such environments are described.
