Abstract:
2-METHYL-3-2-METHYLPHENYL-3,4-DIHYDROQUINAZOLINONE-4 METHAQUALONE, Dormutil and 2-methyl-3-2-ethylphenyl-3,4-dihydroquinazolinone-4 ethinazone, aolan were reduced at a dropping mercury electrode between pH 0 and 8, with the capture of two electrons per molecule. In the range of concentrations to 0.001 m the reduction leads mainly to the corresponding 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinazolinones-4, and in addition the dimers of these compounds, attached at the N1N1 positions, occur at higher concentrations. The mechanism of the electrode reaction is discussed. The possibilities of quantitatively determining the compounds were investigated. Author
