The work covers low profile TEM-line antennas, multimode slot antennas and adaptive arrays. Some design data are presented for 3-element coplanar TEM-line antennas and the use of such antennas in planar array is discussed. Some techniques for exciting multimode apertures are described and some very impressive results are presented for a 3-port T-bar slot. Processing circuitry for a 3-element adaptive array is developed and used at L-band for both a conventional array of three T-bar slots and the 3-port T-bar slot to adaptively null-out an undesired signal. In addition, some basic theory and computer simulated results are presented for a digital adaptive array using processing in the space and wave number domains rather tha in the conventional time domain.
