The purpose of this evaluation was to determine if the radio communication and navigation capabilities currently installed on US Army aircraft in the Republic of Vietnam RVN enable the crew to accomplish their usual combat assault and combat support missions during all weather conditions, both day and night. The evaluation was conducted for a period of 90 days during January, February, and March 1971 in all four military regions in RVN. Based upon responses to questionnaires from and interviews with aviators and aviation unit commanders throughout RVN, it was determined that certain changes to the current avionics configuration would be desirable.
