The report describes three types of active receiving antennas Nonresonant broadband antennas for frequencies below 30 MHz which are very short compared to the wavelength, and resonant antennas with bandpass characteristic for frequencies between 200 and 1200 MHz, and directive microwave antennas using dielectric spheres and wedges as directive elements. In every case the author gives a theory of optimum signal-to-noise ratio and noise-performance measurements for transistors and for complete active antennas. Author
