The report describes and illustrates the thermal protection provided by the AP22S-4 High Altitude Flying Outfit. It indicated that an individual subjected to a JP-4 fuel fire with temperatures from 1800 to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit, for a period of three seconds, would not have been burned if he were wearing this outfit.
