The limited airworthiness and flight qualification test Phase D evaluation of the RU-8D airplane Winebottle configuration was conducted to obtain quantitative handbook data for accurate and safe mission planning. The tests included level flight, landing and takeoff performance stalls and single-engine characteristics and longitudinal and lateral-directional handling qualities. Forty-eight test flights were flown for a total of 51 productive flight test hours. Within the scope of this test, the performance capabilities and the handling qualities of the RU-8D are satisfactory for the reconnaissance mission.
