On-line adaptive maximum-likelihood processing has been simulated on the IBM S360 computer to investigate some of the problems associated with on- line processing. The problems considered were the presence of signals in the data, dead or noisy channels, and signal model errors in adaptive beamsteers. Experimental results indicate that relatively simple techniques are effective in reducing the detrimental effects of these on-line problems to an insignificant level.
