Abstract:

One dimensional kinetic calculations for hydrogen fluorine rocket nozzles predict slightly lower performance than corrected rocket firing data. The H H M H2 M recombination reaction has the most significant effect on nozzle performance and was found to be important for all the OF oxidizer wtfuel wt ratios investigated. The H F M HF M recombination reaction is important only at the higher OF ratios. HF is the most important third body with regard to nozzle performance. Chlorine addition can significantly improve nozzle performance at the higher OF ratios. Author
