Abstract:
Forty-six hours of flight were completed wherein the acoustical characteristics of the RC2-60 liquid-cooled Rotating Combustion Engine were evaluated. The Q-Star prototype quiet aircraft was utilized as the test vehicle. It has been demonstrated that the acoustic signature of the Q-Star aircraft with the RC2-60 engine installed comes close to meeting current detectability criteria.
