Abstract:

This report outlines a historical data base that will provide inputs to weapon system cost analysis in a form that will permit the estimate to be directly related to historical costs of similar systems. The report examines the reports required of contractors, the Army financial accounting system and certain logistic reports as data sources. A summary of management-type data required in the data base is furnished. The report concludes that for uniform estimates to be supported by a historical data base specifically listed revisions should be made in existing reporting systems. Author
