Abstract:
The report gives an account of a short field program on warm-fog dissipation conducted at Fort Rucker, Alabama, in April 1969. The program objective was to establish the effective sphere of influence of the heat plume generated by two specific types of a heating unit. Results of the experiments led to the postulation of the type of equipment needed to clear a Minimum Helicopter Landing Zone of fog. The report discusses the detailed conduct of each experiment and represents an analysis of the daily observations obtained between 19 and 27 April 1969. Author
