Abstract:

The Integrated Logistics Support Planning Guide for DoD Systems and Equipment, DoD Guide 4100.35-G, provided a comprehensive definition of what should be done to accomplish integrated logistics support. This report provides a plan for a joint ServiceIndustry review and evaluation to provide the how for accomplishing the logistics events and actions described by the ILS Guide. It is intended that the results of the ServiceIndustry review be published as supplements to the ILS Guide to provide recommended methods for use by logistics program managers. The wording and work content of eight major tasks recommended by the report, coordinated with the DoDIndustry Advisory Committee for ILS and the Military Departments, are provided as a major part of the report. The report also contains a detailed checklist and a summary checklist of ILS actions derived from the ILS Guide. It also contains a list of key logistics decisions and a set of matrices showing the relationship of the key decisions to logistics elements and the dependence relationships between logistics elements.
