Abstract:
The angular plane-wave spectrum representation of the acoustic field due to a source of arbitrary directivity is used to formulate the problem of scattering by a rough sea surface. An approximate solution is obtained by applying a Kirchhoff-type boundary condition at the surface. The solution suggests a straightforward modification of current ray-tracing techniques in order to estimate the coherent part of the reflected field. Author
