Abstract:

The separation of various mixtures of ferrocene derivatives into phases of distinct polarity is described. In all of the cases investigated and those which are described in the literature a definite interrelationship of the isomer-elution series is observed. For ferrocene derivates containing one nonpolar substituent alkyl and phenyl ferrocenes and one or two polar substituents carbomethyoxy-, acetyl-, cyano-ferrocene the following retention volume variation was established in phases of different polarity. In ferrocene derivates with two or three nonpolar substituents alkyl and trialkylsilyl ferrocene an opposite isomer-elution series is observed.
