Abstract:

The article presents the results of comprehensive theoretical and experimental study of low-cycle fatigue of metals which are important in engineering practice. Following a review of the kinetics of the discharge of plastic deformation in materials with varying rigidity, the article introduces certain conditions for the local disruption of a material as a result of cyclic plastic deformation. Based on theoretical considerations and the experimental deformation curves for cast iron and stainless steel, theoretical curves are drawn for the boundary states during stress and deformation at various levels of stress concentration.
