Abstract:

The Luneberg lens was investigated for use as an X-band antenna capable of providing high gain, narrow beamwidths, and low sidelobes that are comparatively better than those furnished by other microwave-ECM antennas. The multibeam capability of the lens was optimized and explored for direction- finding system application. A constant-K lens was also designed for comparative purposes and evaluated as part of the task.
