Abstract:

The basic research problem of this project is to design and develop systematic and valid procedures for determining billetpaygrade relationships. Once significant billet requirements factors are identified as indicative of job worth, a significant part of the problem remains in developing information gathering procedures for obtaining data about these billet requirements on a large scale. The purpose of this report is to describe both factors and factor degrees selected as indicative of job worth, and to describe through discussion of a pilot test of the data gathering instrument, the effectiveness of the Rating Billet Inventory RBI as a method for obtaining occupational information for use in billet evaluation.
