Abstract:

This report presents the results of an investigation to determine the minimum visual simulation requirements for effective training of tank drivers. The study took into consideration the extent of training provided by the tracked vehicle driver trainer, Device X11H26, and equipment for providing visual sensory information was considered on the basis of compatibility with a device of similar nature. Included is a human engineering analysis of the drivers tasks, establishment of visual simulation criteria, survey of available visual simulation techniques, recommended simulation equipment and budgetary cost estimate for equipment.
