Abstract:

A short summary of theoretical and experimental work performed to date in the sky-wave ranging area is included. Also shown is a graphical solution of the problem when two modes are present and a discussion of its limitations is included. An error analysis pertaining to the proposed phasemeter is given and methods of eliminating the angle ambiguity and reducing measurement errors are discussed. One section is devoted to the study performed by Avco Corporation, who investigated the feasibility and tradeoffs in the design of a twin channel distributed processor for DF application. Author
