Abstract:
Results of lap shear, flatwise tension, climbing peel, fatigue, thermal shock, thermal aging and dynamic modulus tests on five viscoelastic materials are presented. Analyses and tests of various joint designs incorporating viscoelastic materials to determine their capability to withstand static tension and compression loads and cyclic axial and bending loads are given. Sonic fatigue analyses and tests of panels of conventional design, panels containing a constrained layer of viscoelastic material and conventional panels with multiple layer, alternately anchored dampers are included.
