Abstract:

Work continued on an alternate rectifier assembly for the output bridges used in the generating mode. The redesigned rotary transformer was installed in the machine but generator tests were not resumed due to conflicts with the commutator switch tests. The development of the static commutator switches was completed during this reporting period resulting in the delivery of enough switches to evaluate the unit performance within the limitations imposed by the performance of the switches. Acceptance tests were conducted on all switches to evaluate the modules and provide a record of initial switch performance. Author
