Tables for the thermodynamic properties for argon and nitrogen are presented which take into account the effect of dissociation and ionization and the limiting-law Debye-Huckel and second virial corrections, upon the thermodynamic properties and the equilibrium compositions. Values are tabulated from 1500K in steps of 500K to 20,000K at close spacings in the logarithm of the density for the compressibility factor ZPVRT the dimensionless functions for internal energy, ERT enthalpy, HRT entropy, SR specific heat at constant pressure and constant volume the velocity of sound in the gas certain values of gamma the logarithm of the pressure in atmospheres and the total number of moles in the equilibrium mixture. The concentrations of the molecules, atoms and ions are given in tabular form in mole fractions but the concentration of electrons is also given in particles per cubic centimeter. The properties behind a normal shock are given for a temperature of 300K as an initial condition ahead of the shock. The shock tables include the velocity in kilometers per second and the pressure and density ratios across the shock. The equations underlying the calculations are given in detail and the input data is discussed briefly. The wide range of temperatures and densities over which the thermodynamic and shock properties have been tabulated made the tables useful in a variety of engineering, design, and test programs and in scientific research, and development.
