A series of investigations on Strong Field Electromagnetic Wave Interaction with Anisotropic Plasmas has been carried out. The major accomplishments include Formulation of a theory of conductivity for a slightly ionized plasma Development of plasma diagnostic techniques Measurement of strong field, e-m wave interaction with anisotropic plasmas Measurement of strong field, e-m waves in anisotropic plasmas Discovery of enhanced transmission at high electron densities in the region of electron cyclotron resonance Experimental results which do not support the theory on the effect of an electrostatic field on e-m wave propagation in a plasma Distortion of amplitude modulated e-m waves transmitted through a plasma and An absolute measurement of plasma density by propagation of e-m waves at small angles to the magnetic field direction.
