Abstract:

The report presents the results of a study to determine the effects of high dust loads and elevated ambient temperatures on diesel engine and gas turbine prime movers. It gives estimates of the maximum dust concentration each of these types of prime movers can accept for 500 hours and still be operable at the end of this period. It also presents a discussion of the effects of elevated ambient temperatures on diesel engines and gas turbines. Author
