The investigation is a part of a program relating to the nature of structural damage generated during metal forming operations. There were two major goals of the study first, to determine whether or not the propensity for structural damage of a variety of common materials could be categorized quantitatively in terms of a damage sensitivity parameter second, to determine whether or not a relation between the structural damage in wrought materials and their mechanical properties could be established.
