The report describes an experimental program accomplishing improvements in the grinding behavior of certain high strength thermal resistant alloys, principally of the high nickel class. The three major areas of investigation in this report are 1 effects of the materials properties of the workpiece on its grinding behavior, 2 the effects on novel grinding fluids and 3 optimization of grinding variables for selected alloys. Results obtained are expressed in terms of wheel wear, power at wheel-work interface, metal removal rate, and assessment of grinding damage. Author
