The stress corrosion cracking of titanium alloys and high strength steels is being investigated. The aim of this work is to elucidate fundamental mechanisms. The cracking of titanium is being investigated in aqueous and methanolic environments using electrochemical techniques. The cracking of high strength steels is being investigated using sonic, electrochemical, hydrogen permeation, and ellipsometric technique. Author
