Abstract:

The author describes test measurements made with the Stecometer, a precision stereocomparator described by O. Weibrecht, manufactured by VEB Carl Zeiss, Jena, involving 25-point network measurements, network-model evaluation, network triangulation, evaluation of signalled points in aerial photograph models, and photographic triangulation. The results showed that the instrument is capable of providing a coordinate-measurement accuracy of plus or minus 2.5 micrometers under average climatic conditions without the need for temperature-compensating stabilization of the measuring area. The instrument is inexpensive, can be operated conveniently, and has good mechanical and optical characteristics. It is judged suitable for use in analytical photogrammetry. Author
