Abstract:

Seven connectors for flat cables were tested at the US Army Electronics Command, four of which were selected for further development. These four connectors are a a pierce-insulation-and-pressure type, b a pressure connector typical of those commercially available, c a soften-insulation-and-weld type, and d a soften-insulation-and-solder connection with insulation stripped from only one side of the cable.
