Abstract:

A system was developed by NCEL to provide a simple, expedient connection between the new 20-knot, Class 1179 LST and a causeway. The developed system, designated the Abutment Connection System, is compatible with all classes of LST and installation is within the present operational capability of the Amphibious Construction Battalions.
