Abstract:

Effort during this period was directed toward fabrication of 1.5-lb., 200-joule, 2500-volt capacitors capable of withstanding 10,000 discharges into a 2-ohm load. Capacitors were built using three dielectric systems. Discharge life test data indicate one of the systems, metallized mylar, may be capable of meeting the objectives. Capacitors were manufactured and tested. This report details their manufacture, includes the test data and analyzes the test data. Author
