Abstract:

The state of intoxication produced in the sensitive animal by a bacterial endotoxin is accompanied by deep circulatory troubles. These are the same troubles that are found in subjects in traumatic shock. It is possible, therefore, to equate these two states and to classify the endotoxins among the toxic factors capable of causing shock.
