Abstract:

A broadband solid state integrated mixer and varactor limiter is being developed to cover the band 4 - 11 GHz. The balanced mixer is in microstrip and consists of a 3 dB coupler, low pass filter, and matching structures for forward and reverse connected Schottky-barrier diodes. Considerable data is included about work in this area. The varactor limiter high frequency insertion loss was reduced with a new design concept and its power handling capability appears adequate.
