Abstract:

Fabrics which contain various antiseptics chemically bonded with the modified cellulose macromolecules were subjected to mold fungi. The fabrics containing pentachlorophenol or mercuro-organic compounds were found to have the most resistance to mold fungi. This resistance to molding remained even after extended rinsing in running tap water. These fabrics were also found to have high resistance to cellulose-destroying microorganisms however, this resistance was found to be somewhat reduced after rinsing. Author
