Abstract:
Two derivatives of L-latic dehydrogenase, an apoenzyme obtained by separation of the flavine and a hemoproteinic fragment obtained by tryptic hydrolysis, were investigated in an effort to determine 1 the respective roles of the heme and the flavine, 2 interactions between the heme-heme and heme-flavine prosthetic groups, and 3 protein-heme interactions. An investigation was also undertaken on various properties of D-latic dehydrogenase from anaerobic yeast and of D-lactic cytochrome C reductase from aerobic yeast.
