Abstract:
The report describes a recently developed lightweight tent designed to provide shelter for emergency medical treatment in tropical and arid environments. The tent has a floor area of 10 feet by 12 feet with minimum headroom of 6 feet. When packed for carrying on a rucksack frame, its total weight is 28 pounds it can be erected and dismantled by one man. The shape of the tent is reminiscent of a Conestoga wagon, and its frame is made of sections of aluminum rods and fiber-glass rods joined by bungee cord. The life expectancy of the tent in the field is at least 180 days. Author
