Formulas are derived for the expected queues and the expected deviations from the expected queues of indirect and direct messages as they would arise under different traffic conditions in the Universal Integrated Communications System. A numerical discussion of these formulas is carried out to show the sensitivity of the indirect message queue fluctuations to changes in traffic conditions and mean holding times. Author
