Abstract:
Alkali vapor arc lamps belong to the most efficient class of thermal light sources. Basically, a light source performs more efficiently when a large number of spectral lines with high transition probability is emitted in the spectral region near the maximum of the Planck curve corresponding to the light source temperature.
