Abstract:
By increasing the reflector spacing in a plane Perot-Fabry resonator to 250 cm, a ruby laser of high mode selectivity can be realized. Well-defined modes with regular pulse repetition rate come about. The angular divergence of the beam is less than one minute of arc even in the case of higher pump energies. The resonator oscillates virtually in axial modes alone. Mode diaphragms in the feedback path simplify the oscillation performance so that regular relaxation oscillations come about even with minor reflector spacings. Author
