The problem consisted of checking once more on the fact of diminished chlorine elimination in various febrile diseases. The causes of such diminished elimination were investigated. Determination was made of the quantities of chlorides taken with the food, together with voluntary augmentation of these intakes. The quantities eliminated through the kidneys and the intestine were noted.
