Abstract:
The main result of the work points out the fact that auxin is somehow inactivated by ethylene without being destroyed. No criteria were found for the fact that ethylene reduced hormone production. Similarly no alterations appear to be occurring that inhibit the movement of growth hormone. The result of the diffusion-, extraction-, and translocation-experiments is completely understandable if treatment with ethylene inactivates the hormone.
