During the quarter, methylphenylphosphinic, 4-biphenylphenylphosphinic, di-n-butylphosphinic, and diphenylphosphinic acids, and beryllium and aluminum methylphenylphosphinates were prepared. The solution polymerization of beryllium acetylacetonate with methylphenylphosphinic acid was studied. The thermal properties of beryllium and aluminum phosphinates were examined by DTA and TGA. Molecular weight studies were made of beryllium 2-biphenylphenyl, 4-biphenylphenyl, and methylphenylphosphinate polymers. A laminate of beryllium methylphenylphosphinate was made. Investigation of the sulfanuric polymer system continued. Author
